How the rebate works
The City of Toronto's Contribution Rebate Program returns 75% of your first $300, with a sliding scale above that, up to a $1,000 maximum rebate. The campaign gives you an official rebate receipt after your contribution. You apply through the City after the election.

Donors who contribute the full $1,200 become Campaign Champions, and I will thank you personally: a shout-out on all my socials, recognition in the campaign newsletter, and acknowledgment on stage at our upcoming fundraising event. After the rebate, your $1,200 could cost you as little as about $558. It means more than you know.
Who can donate, and the rules
- Only individuals who are residents of Ontario can contribute. Corporations and trade unions cannot.
- Contributions must come from your own funds.
- Maximum $1,200 to a single candidate; $5,000 total to all candidates for the same council.
- Only monetary contributions over $25 are eligible for the rebate. Only individuals may receive rebates.
- For the 2026 Toronto municipal election, the online rebate application form will be available in October 2026. Completed forms, signed by candidate and contributor, go to the City Clerk's office.
